Path Less Travelled

There are many instances where in when we make a statement or we express our opinion we immediately look around to obtain the consent or support of the others and we hope none opposes the same. I am no exception to this.
How many of us have contemplated the reason? I thought about this a little and I made some deductions. The reasons were that we derive confidence when others support us and also that we are looking to assure ourselves that we are following the path that is taken by the majority. This is because we find strength in this majority. The same thing is with life.
We rarely take the path that is less trodden as we are very vary of the risks. We want a very stable life even though we know that the probability of success is more when the competition is less. We are ready to sacrifice the big to be content with the small. This has to change if we are to become world beaters. Not that we should blindly take the step but calculate the risks and analyse back up plans before we take the plunge.
We have already become the victim of this mentality so the scope for us is less unless we are ready for this change which I very much doubt atleast in my case. We should atleast instill this into the forth coming generations. We should encourage them and stand by them when they want to do something out of the ordinary. I see some changes already in place and I hope that the steam does not run out.
