Why was child marriage performed in early days of Brahmin Customs

Disclaimer:- This post is just one of those For Your Information (FYI) posts. This in no way supports child marraige or opposes the same. This is a fact I came across and just wanted to share the same. To analyze the reason is not the aim of this post.

It is said that the people in the past eras felt that people learn more, faster and in their childhood than they do during adulthood (which we must accept is a fact even today). Also it is a fact that some rituals/pujas in the Hindu religion cannot be performed by brahmacharis (unmarried males). Therefore, in order to help the male brahmins to perform these rituals/pujas they were married at a very early age.

Apart from religious reasons, there are some valid biological reasons also for which our elders have done child marriages.
Biologically, reproductive system in women are tuned for proper functioning between the age- 16-28- in fact, doctors prefer the age group- 23-28.
After 30, the pelvis section in women starts stiffening and hence the difficulty in giving birth increases many folds.
