This is one of the most realistic war movies ever taken in India. The movie is about the Kargil invasion and eventual defeat of the infiltrators by India. The movie in particular deals with the battle to regain control over the strategic peak Point 5179 looking over the Srinagar-Ladakh highway, which is the life line of Kashmir. The intruders where actually Pakistan Army officers and soldiers in civilian clothes but to this day Pakistan refuses to acknowledge this fact. Also the best part of the war was that it was fought without India ever stepping across the LOC.
Anyways, coming to the movie on this war, Lakshya. This is a great storyline about how a confused youth "finds" himself in this war. The protagonist played by Hrithik Roshan is simply awesome. This movie dazzles in every department in background music, cinematography, acting and the closeness to reality.
The following video clip is part of the battle wherein the commando group of Indian Army decide to scale the difficult cliff to take on the enemy as the other ways to the top are easily thwarted by the intruders. Watch it and enjoy.
