Godfather

Many would have seen this great film in which Marlon Brando gave a performance which no one can can repeat. Such a great actor. But, this blog is not about the movie but about each one of us having a Godfather.
My belief is that everyone of us had, or has or will have a Godfather to succeed in life. No, I am not disregarding the fact that hardwork and dedication have a major say in our success. But, to recognize our potential and boost our chances or even provide us oppurtunities there has to be someone. This person will have the resources or contacts to help us. This person need not be your superior, though most of the time they are, but they can also be your peer.
I can quote a few examples from cricket and films. Take for instance Harbajjan Singh. Though he had the talent if not for Ganguly he would have been dropped long ago. Ravi Shastri had Sunil Gavaskar as his Godfather. Great actor Padmashree Kamal Hasan and Rajnikant both had their Godfathers in the great director K. Balachander.
I do not know how many of you will agree with me, but think about it.

hi!
there is a difference between a godfather and a guide( i mean a person who is basically guiding and helping you in your life).
The level of interest a person takes in your life is what determines the difference between a godfather and a guide.

I specifically mean Godfather. You may have many guides but you will have only 1 godfather. I agree with the statement that defines the difference between guids and godfather
