In life we always have desires. We want some thing or the other all through our life. When we were kids we wanted to play all the time. During adolescent we always wanted to try out new things. When we are in college we want to freak out and have a girl by our side. When we get employed we want money and recognition. When we are old we want the company of our children and see them grow to great heights. These are very generic examples.
So desire is constant in our life and to some extent acts as a motivator to succeed in life. But there are times when we have been longing for something and when we get it, it seems so very unwanted. More correctly we are not sure if we really want that. It feels very insignificant. There can be a lot of reasons attributed to this. One, we have found something that we want more badly than this. Two, something or someone or some event has changed our outlook and we are no more interested in that desire. And three, which I feel is the most important is that we are completely at sea in our knowledge to realize what we really want in life.
We humans were, are amd will be a confused lot. As we have made our lifes so complicated whereas it was meant to be much simpler.
